9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 13, 2024) – Construction for the I-75 widening project in Lexington will require temporary lane closures on part of Paris Pike scheduled for Wednesday, August 14 from midmorning to midafternoon. This closure facilitates the placement of barrier wall for bridge work on the Interstate 64/75 bridge over US 68.
Contractors will close the right lanes of both northbound and southbound US 68 (Paris Pike) at the I-64/75 northbound ramp according to the following schedule:
Wednesday, August 14
- The right lane of northbound and southbound US 68 (Paris Pike) will be closed at the I-64/I-75 interchange beginning at 9 a.m.
- Barrels will be in place to facilitate traffic. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.
- All lanes will reopen by 3 p.m.
The work is part of the I-75 widening project. When complete in 2026, this project will reduce congestion and improve safety throughout the 2-mile corridor from the Paris Pike exit to the I-64/75 southern split. It is the second of two projects to widen I-64/75 to four lanes each direction in Fayette County.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
