Resurfacing Project on River Road/Pike Street (KY 8) in Kenton County to Begin Monday, July 1
Motorists should expect lane closures between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
COVINGTON, Ky. (June 28, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a resurfacing project on River Road/Pike Street (KY 8) in Kenton County beginning Monday, July 1.
Crews will be resurfacing River Road/Pike Street from the Boone/Kenton County line (mile point 0.0) to Deverill Street (KY 1072) (mile point 3.97), a distance of 3.97 miles. Workers will be on-site between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Crews will begin by addressing base failures, and then will return later in July to the project area for milling/paving operations.
Motorists should expect single lane closures throughout the project area during working hours. Flaggers will be in place to guide motorists safely through the work zone.
This section of River Road is part of a larger project on KY 8 that includes resurfacing in the Covington area. KYTC will announce at a later date when those sections closer to Covington will be resurfaced.
The project is being done by Riegler Blacktop, Inc., under a $1,158,865.13 low-bid Kentucky Transportation Cabinet contract. Weather permitting, the overall project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.
The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Motorists can get Northern Kentucky road construction updates on the District 6 Roadshow.
