I-275 DIAMOND GRINDING UPDATE (CAMPBELL/KENTON COUNTY LINE TO U.S. 25 OVERPASS)
Friday, June 28: rolling closures throughout the project limits for thermoplastic striping.
Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2: rolling closures continue throughout the project limits for installation of permanent markers. Additionally, signal work behind guardrail will take place during daytime hours, this work will have no impact to traffic.
Wednesday, July 3 through Saturday, July 6: No work is scheduled during the holiday weekend (Independence Day).
NOTE: Nightly lane closures are permitted with this project: a single lane closure at 8 p.m., expanding to a double lane closure beginning at 10 p.m. All lanes must be reopened by 6 a.m.
These dates/times are weather permitting. KYTC will advise if any delays are incurred due to inclement weather. Further information regarding this construction project can be located in the Kenton County section of the Roadshow.
I-275 RESURFACING UPDATE (HEBRON TO MINEOLA PIKE)
I-275 Eastbound
No anticipated work eastbound for this week.
I-275 Westbound
Friday, June 28 through Monday, July 1: beginning at 7 p.m., there will be a single lane closure on I-275 westbound from the Boone/Kenton County line (mile point 1.58), to west of KY 237 (mile point 7.25). This will become a double lane closure at 9 p.m. I-275 westbound will be down to a single lane from 9 p.m. on Friday, June 28, to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 1.
Crews will be installing permanent tape and inlaid markers throughout the project area.
NOTE: KYTC will advise if any delays are incurred due to inclement weather. Further information regarding this construction project can be located in the Boone County section of the full Roadshow.
BOONE - CAMPBELL - KENTON COUNTIES:

Beginning Thursday, June 13, contractors will begin applying high friction surface treatment to the roadway in three separate locations. The higher pavement friction will help motorists maintain better control in both dry and wet driving conditions.
- Boone County: U.S. 42 eastbound between Airview Drive and Mall Road in Florence (13.37 – 13.47 mile points). Application of high friction treatment is now complete.
- Kenton County: Commonwealth Avenue (KY 236) between Elm Street and Hulbert Avenue in Erlanger (1.65 – 1.80 mile points). Contractors will return to this location to complete a missed section. This work will take place on Friday, June 28, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with traffic being maintained in each direction during the application process.
- Campbell County: Interstate 471 southbound exit ramp (exit 5) to Dave Cowens Drive (KY 8X). Application of high friction treatment is now complete. Contractors will return to the site and require an additional closure to perform final sweeping and installtion of thermoplastic arrows to the roadway surface. We will provide an update when this work is scheduled.
BOONE COUNTY:

Intersection of KY 3076 (Mineola Pike) and Jamike Avenue – The entrance to Jamike Avenue from Mineola Pike will be temporarily CLOSED beginning Friday evening, June 28. The road will re-open to traffic Monday evening, July 1. This closure is needed for the installation of a storm sewer. This work is associated with the Mineola Pike widening project. Message boards are in place to warn motorists of the upcoming closure. This work is weather permitting. Access to Jamike Avenue will be available via Cox Avenue.

Intersection of KY 236 (Donaldson Highway) and Cox Avenue – The entrance to Cox Avenue is now open following a two week closure for soil stabilization work.

KY 18 (Burlington Pike) – 16.06 – 16.63 mile point – A resurfacing/reconfiguration project on KY 18 from Girard Street to KY 1017 (Turfway Road) is now complete.

KY 18 (Burlington Pike) – 14.5 – 16.08 mile point – A resurfacing project on KY 18 from west of KY 842 (Houston Road) to Girard Street is now complete.
BRACKEN COUNTY:

KY 8 (Mary Ingles Highway W) 3.59 – 13.95 mile points – A safety improvement project on KY 8 from Willow Creek Road to Big Bracken Creek bridge just east of KY 19 is in progress. Motorists should expect traffic impacts during different phases of construction within the project limits. This project has a completion date of late July 2024.
Beginning Monday, July 8, contractors will begin paving operations through the project limits. A single lane closure will be in place during daytime working hours. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic around the work zone.
CAMPBELL COUNTY:

Taylor Southgate Bridge – 22.4 – 22.7 mile points – Bridge work on the Taylor Southgate Bridge is now complete. Contractors replaced a safety cable on both sides of the bridge. This cable is used by bridge inspectors while performing inspections.
GRANT COUNTY:

KY 1560 (Barnes Road) – 0.00 – 1.13 mile points – A resurfacing project on KY 1560 from just west of the I-75 interchange extending east to U.S. 25 is nearing completion.
Milling/paving operations are now complete. Weather permitting, contractors are scheduled to install thermoplastic striping within the project limits on Saturday, June 29. Motorists should expect single lane closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until the project is complete. Flaggers will be in place to guide traffic safely through the work zone.
Weather permitting, the project has an expected completion date of June 30, 2024.

KY 36 – 19.07 – 21.05 mile points – A resurfacing project on KY 36 from the east end of Lick Creek Bridge to KY 330 is now complete.

KY 36 – 6.45 – 10.57 mile points – A resurfacing project on KY 36 from KY 22 to KY 1995 is now complete.
HARRISON COUNTY:
KENTON COUNTY:

KY 8 (River Road/Pike Street) – 0.00 – 3.97 mile points – A resurfacing project on River Road/Pike Street from the Boone/Kenton County line to Deverill Street (KY 1072) will begin on Monday, July 1.
Contractors will be working on base failure repairs beginning on Monday, July 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A single lane closure will be in place during these daytime working hours. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the work zone.
Once base failure repairs have cured, crews will return to the site to perform milling/paving operations (late July). We will provide an update once that work is scheduled.
This section of River Road is part of a larger project on KY 8 that includes resurfacing in the Covington area. We will announce at a later date when those sections closer to Covington will be resurfaced.
This project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.

U.S. 25 (Dixie Highway) Railroad Underpass – 6.21 – 6.24 mile points – Painting of this railroad underpass structure on U.S. 25 is now complete.

KY 2373 (Crescent Springs Pike/Anderson Road) – 0.95 – 3.11 mile points – A resurfacing project on Crescent Springs Pike/Anderson Road from the I-275 overpass extending north to Beechwood Road will begin on Thursday, June 27.
Contractors will be working on base failure repairs beginning on Thursday, June 27, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A single lane closure will be in place during these daytime working hours. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the work zone.
Once base failure repairs have cured, crews will return to the site to perform milling/paving operations, as well as sidewalk work. We will provide an update once that work is scheduled.
This project has an expected completion date of Nov. 15, 2024.

KY 16 (Taylor Mill Road) – 8.96 – 10.73 mile points – A preventative maintenance project on Taylor Mill Road from Klette Road (KY 2047) extending north to Waymans Branch/Taylor Mill Road (3716) will begin on Thursday, June 27.
On Thursday, June 27, the contractor will remove thermoplastic pavement markings ahead of the scheduled microsurface treatment. Beginning the week of July 8, contractors will mobilize equipment to the site and begin applying the treatment to the roadway. Contractors will return to the project site one week after finishing the application to apply permanent striping.
Work is scheduled to occur between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Single lane closures will take place throughout the entirety of the project. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction. Occasionally, crews may be required to stop traffic at an intersection for a short period of time.
When working around Klette Road where Pride Parkway narrows to two lanes, flaggers will be utilized to guide traffic around the work area.
This work is being done at night to mitigate traffic impacts as much as possible. Motorists are advised to slow down and be cautious when driving through the project area. Sweepers will be on-site to clean up any loose material during the project. The project has an expected completion date of Late July.
