Traffic Impacts in Kenton County for Maintenance Project Beginning Monday, June 24

Various lane and road closures needed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. (June 20, 2024)   The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of several traffic impacts in Kenton County for a maintenance project beginning Monday, June 24.

Crews will be removing rock near Fowler Creek Road Connector (KY 1486C) to improve drainage and safety in the area. The material collected at this site will then be used to fill an area for a slide repair project near Dixie Highway/Pike Street (U.S. 25).

The first project site is located on the Fowler Creek Road Connector, and will require a full road closure between KY 17 (mile point 0.216) and Fowler Creek Road (mile point 0.001), a distance of 0.215 miles. This road closure will be in place during the working hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Motorists will need to utilize the signed detour or an alternate route during working hours. The road is expected to reopen daily at 8 p.m.

Signed Detour: Fowler Creek Road to Madison Pike (KY 3035), to KY 17.

The second project site is on Dixie Highway/Pike Street, and will require a northbound single right lane closure between mile points 11.8 and 12.2, a distance of 0.4 miles. This single lane closure will be in place between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during working hours.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route during peak traffic periods to avoid delays.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed Friday, June 28.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
