Daytime Closures for Storm Debris Removal along KY 1253 in Trigg County Cancelled

Local residents removed downed trees and limbs for firewood

PADUCAH, Ky. (June 18, 2024)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has cancelled a series of daytime closures along KY 1253 (Hardy Road) in Trigg County.

The Trigg County Highway Maintenance Crew planned daytime closures along KY 1253 (Hardy Road) from mile point 3.89 to mile point 4.89 to allow storm debris to be removed from state right of way.  However, when the crew started preliminary work, some local residents indicated neighbors had cut up and removed much of the debris for use as firewood.

As a result of the community participation, the remaining debris was quickly removed and the planned daytime closures along KY 1253 will not be necessary.
