Intersection improvement project for Fayette County
The Highway Safety Improvement Program
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 12, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises the traveling public of an intersection project for Harrodsburg Road/US 68. Improvements for various intersections are in effect currently for Lexington, Fayette County.
The work is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program. The HSIP program is designed to provide safety upgrades for roadways. The anticipated completion date is Friday, November 15, 2024.
Note:
- operations are in effect Mondays through Fridays during the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- lane closures in place --- motorists can pass through the work zones
Harrodsburg Road/US 68
- upgrade work is progressing at the intersection of Harrodsburg Road/US 68 (milepoint 2.365) with Fort Harrods Drive (milepoint 2.441)
- the improvements include asphalt surface with grade and drain (levelling and sloping for correct drainage)
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
