Other things of note:

KY 254/JMMS Project -- Began on Tuesday, May 28, KYTC will begin a school safety project to widen KY 254 (Brown Road) in Madisonville in front of James Madison Middle School to three lanes. The project will include addition of a school access road and a sidewalk that will run from Athey Airport Road east to Sunrise Drive. All work on school property is expected to be finished by the first day of school this fall, with a target completion date of the project set for Nov. 15.

I-24 Paving & Rehab 29 to 33mm in Livingston County -- This 4.12 mile roadway rehabilitation project runs from the 29.54mm at the Tennessee River Bridge, extending eastward to the 33.664 mm near the Cumberland River Bridge. It connects with a work zone on the I-24 TN River Bridge.  Work is phased to allow all lanes to open for Memorial Day and July 4th Holiday travel. There is a 55-mile-per-hour speed limit, enhanced enforcement, and interactive signage. Due to traffic backups, consider a self-detour via U.S. 62 between Exit 40 and Exit 27.  Construction activities may require some overnight closures. Watch for updates.  Target completion date is August 1, 2024.

I-24 Tennessee River Bridge at 29mm -- This work zone includes restrictions for both eastbound and westbound traffic on the I-24 Tennessee River Bridge at the 29mm. There is an 8 ft.-6 in. max load width and 13 ft- 6 in. max height restriction, a 55 MPH speed limit, enhanced enforcement, double fines, and a concrete barrier wall.  During peak travel, local commuters should consider a self-detour via U.S. 62 between Exit 27 and Exit 40. Some occasional lane restrictions will be required at night and on weekends as construction progresses.  Target for completion is Dec 1, 2024.
