Graves County to Receive $160,000 in Emergency Road Aid Funds for Culvert Replacement

Funds for drainage repair on Wray Road

PADUCAH, Ky. (June 11, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that the Graves County Fiscal Court will receive $160,000 in County Road Aid emergency funds for the repair of a drainage structure on Wray Road (CR 1311).

“The Transportation Cabinet is pleased to approve this request for funding to provide assistance to Graves County to repair and maintain safe connections in the community,” said Transportation Secretary Jim Gray.

Wray Road runs between U.S. 45 and Wingo Road northeast of the Water Valley community.  The damaged culvert carries Jackson Creek under Wray Road immediately west of the Willard Road intersection.

Graves County will receive 50 percent of the funding to cover up front expenses, with the remainder provided when the work is completed.  The county is responsible for 20 percent of the total cost.

The KYTC Department of Rural and Municipal Aid maintains a special fund to assist county and city governments with emergency roadway repairs.

The Graves County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work.
