Operations scheduled for Frankfort Road/US 460 in Scott County

High friction surface treatment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 31, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled work for Frankfort Road/US 460. Lane closures will be necessary for high friction surface treatment to be applied.

High friction surface treatments (HFST) are pavement applications which assist to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities. The application is especially important during wet roadway conditions.

Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 217 p.m. evenings until 7 a.m. the following mornings (M thru F work)

Frankfort Road/US 460 (milepoint 3.333)

  • operations will be in effect from 1.89 miles east of KY 1973 extending to 3.614 miles west of KY 227 (milepoint 3.441)
  • high friction surface treatment will be applied for a distance of 0.11 miles
  • alternating lane closures will be in place --- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
  • vehicles up to 16 feet in width will be able to pass through the work zone

All work/closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes:  Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
