Reduced Weight Limit Placed on US 60 Bridge between Henderson and Union Counties

10-ton restriction begins today

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (May 29, 2024) Following a recent inspection, engineers with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet placed a 10-ton weight limit on the US 60 bridge at the Henderson-Union County line today. The restriction will go into effect immediately.

Built in 1943 over Highland Creek, the 81-year-old bridge carries around 6,000 vehicles through the US 60 corridor between the two counties each day.

The new 10-ton limit will not affect normal passenger vehicles. Heavier vehicles will need to find a new route. There will be no marked detour.
