Closure of KY 131/Said Road North of Symsonia in Graves County on Friday May 24

Closure from 8 a.m., to 4 p.m., for cross drain replacement

PADUCAH, Ky. (May 23, 2024)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to close a section of KY 131/Said Road north of the Symsonia community in Graves County on Friday May 24, 2024.

KY 131/Said Road will be closed at the 12.8 mile point to allow a damaged cross drain to be replaced.  This is immediately north of the KY 348 All-Way Intersection - between Symsonia and the Graves-McCracken County Line.

The Graves County Highway Maintenance Crew has temporarily placed a metal plate over the damaged cross drain.  The crew plans to return to the site on Friday to replace the drain.

KY 131 will be closed at this site from 8 a.m., to approximately 4 p.m., CDT, on Friday.

There will be no marked detour.  Due to the location of the damaged cross drain the best connection between the Reidland community of McCracken County and the Symsonia area of Graves county will be via KY 450/Oaks Road and KY 348.

KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely updates should the roadway reopen earlier than expectedly.
