Please join us for amazing talk from Dr. Laman Gray. He is a world famous doctor who performed Kentucky's first heart transplant in 1984, making him a well known hero in the heart and medical world. He is also famous in the aviation world. As a heart surgeon, he recognized the short lifespan of donor organs and the need to transport them faster. Dr. Gray, who became a pilot at age 17, decided he could use his aviation skills to save lives in the operating room. He obtained his instrument and multi engine ratings and began to fly to help harvest the organs and fly them to patients in need.
