Hayden Rd in Daviess County to be Closed for Five Days Beginning May 20
Work is part of the on-going KY 54 widening project
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (May 10, 2024) – As preparation work for the project to widen KY 54 in Owensboro progresses, motorists will soon see the first major traffic change since work began earlier this year.
On Monday, May 20, 2024, contractors working for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close the entrance to Hayden Road and Gateway Commons in order to relocate existing waterlines that are currently in the path of the expansion project.
Spacing issues at the intersection will not permit a borehole to be drilled under the roadway, forcing workers to cut a trench across Hayden Road to install the new pipe.
Work is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20 and should be completed with asphalt repairs in place by the end of the day on Friday, May 24.
There will be a marked detour in place.
