Big Rivers Plans Rolling Roadblock on I-69
Utility to conduct work over interstate on Mothers Day at 8 a.m.
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (May 2, 2024) – Big Rivers Electric, a utility company located near the Henderson-Webster line, will be conducting an early morning rolling roadblock on Mothers Day, May 12, 2024 at the 133 mile marker along I-69 in Webster County.
Work and roadblocks are expected to begin around 8 a.m. This temporary measure is necessary to allow crews to pull conductors across the entire width of the interstate. Law enforcement will be on hand offer traffic control assistance.
During the rolling roadblock, Big Rivers doesn't plan to stop traffic completely, but motorists should still expect brief delays. Traffic will likely be slowed down enough to allow for a section of the interstate to be temporarily cleared long enough for work to be carried out.
Around 11,165 vehicles utilize this section of Interstate 69 on a daily basis. Motorists should anticipate delays and exercise caution while navigating through the affected zone.
