Crews to replace cross drains
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 1, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the closure of a section of KY 1861 (Smithfield Road) today, May 1, in Henry County.
KY 1861 (Smithfield Road) is closed from mile point 1.909 to mile point 1.998 (near Main Street and Giltner Road) until 3 p.m. today, May 1. The closure is necessary as crews work to replace cross drains. Motorists should expect to detour around the work zone as crews complete the installation along the route.
Following the replacement of cross drains, crews will place a layer of dense-grade rock over the drains until asphalt can be laid. Drivers should exercise caution when driving over the newly replaced cross drains.
