KY 272 Intersection in Hopkinsville to Transition to an All-Way Stop Next Week
Signage and overhead lights at intersection with Major Lane and Pyle Lane will be installed on Tuesday
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (April 16, 2024) – An intersection of KY 272/Canton Pike with two cross streets in Hopkinsville will be transitioning to an all-way stop beginning on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Currently the intersection of KY 272 with Major and Pyle Lanes is configured so that traffic on both side streets must stop, while traffic on the highway does not. WIth the update, motorists in all directions will be required to stop.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be changing signage at the intersection of KY 272 with Major Lane and Pyle Lane on Tuesday, and will begin replacing flashing yellow overhead lights with flashing red lights. There will also be temporary message boards and signs placed along KY 272 to make motorists aware of the change.
All work is expected to be completed in one day.
Motorists are asked to be on the lookout for workers and equipment while the work is being completed.
