Signal modifications scheduled for
Jessamine County
The intersection of Nicholasville Road/US 27 at Commerce/Kohls Drive
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 15, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled signal change for Jessamine County. Signal phasing will be modified for the intersection of Nicholasville Road/US 27 at Commerce/Kohls Drive.
Monday, April 15 – 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Nicholasville Road/US 27 at Commerce/Kohls Drive
- the side street (Commerce/Kohls Drive) at milepoint 13.48 will be changed from a shared phase to split phases
- split phasing means that each side of the street will be serviced separately and have it’s own time
- this will allow the three (3) exit lanes from Kohls Drive to have a green light at the same time and to be redesignated as a dedicated left turn/shared thru and left turn/dedicated right turn
- Commerce Drive will have it’s own green signal for the two (2) exit lanes with a dedicated right turn lane and shared thru/left turn lane
- the changes will include the addition of thermoplastic arrow markings on Commerce and Kohls Drive with alternating lane closures on the side streets
- there will be overhead signal work to install signal indications --- this could require temporary alternating closures on the side streets and turn lanes off of US 27
Motorists should remain aware of the temporary changes for the area and utilize caution.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
