Rescheduled closures for Military Pike/KY 1966 in Fayette County
Tree removal from overhanging power lines by Kentucky Utilities
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 11, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this news release serves as an update. Closures are rescheduled for Military Pike/KY 1966 in Fayette County.
The temporary closures are necessary for tree removal work from overhanging power lines. Operations will be performed by Kentucky Utilities. Work was not performed on Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10 as originally planned.
Saturday, April 13 - 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Military Pike/KY 1966
- one lane will be closed at 1.2 for preliminary work
- intermittent short term full closures may be necessary
- a closure will be in effect at Fort Springs Pinkard and James Lane (the closure is necessary to allow space for a crane to remove wood from the overhanging power lines and roadway)
All work/closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
