KYTC District 2 Eclipse Traffic Report at 4:30 p.m. CDT
Traffic slow moving on I-24 east, I-69 in Hopkins County, Pennyrile Parkway and US 41 at Henderson
MADISONVILLE, Ky. (April 08, 2024) – As traffic from the 2024 Eclipse continues to filter out if District 2, several backups and one crash have been reported.
Traffic on Interstate 24 eastbound is backed up across the state line from Tennessee into Christian County. Traffic at the I-24/Pennyrile Parkway interchange is also beginning to back up due to a crash between the 81 and 84 mile markers of I-24 eastbound, just west of US 41.
Traffic on I-69 southbound is slow moving near the Mortons Gap interchange. Southbound traffic from the interchange headed onto the Pennyrile Parkway passes through a pinch point in southern Hopkins County near Nortonville, where the parkway is restricted to one lane due to an ongoing construction project.
In Henderson, southbound traffic on the Twin Bridges is slow headed onto the US 41 strip, but largely resumes normal traffic flow as it merges onto I-69 south.
