UPDATE: Multi-Vehicle Crash along I-24 Westbound on Cumberland River Bridge at 33mm in Lyon County

PADUCAH, Ky. (April 8, 2024) – Lyon County 911 Dispatch reported a multi-vehicle crash blocking Interstate 24 westbound on the Cumberland River Bridge at 33 mile marker in Lyon County.
At this time, KYTC personnel, Kentucky State Police, and Lyon County Deputies have opened one lane at the site.
Some of the vehicles involved were mobile and have been moved off the roadway. One vehicle is awaiting a tow truck.
The estimated duration of this blockage is 1 hour or approximately 12 Noon, CDT.
While one lane is open, westbound motorists on I-24 may detour around this crash site via the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 Interchange to U.S. 62 West to return to I-24 at Calvert City Exit 27.
I-24 has experienced heavy westbound traffic this morning as visitors head to the path of the Total Solar Eclipse.
