Update - New Circle Road/KY 4 Widening Project in Fayette County
Between Leestown Road/US 421 and Georgetown Road/US 25
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 28, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this news release serves as an update. Periodic updates are sent to media outlets for the current New Circle Road/KY 4 Widening project. The design includes improvements between Leestown Road/US 421 and Georgetown Road/US 25.
The plan for the Leestown Interchange will be a Double Crossover Diamond design. The design is similar to the current Harrodsburg Road/US 68 interchange. The Harrodsburg Road/US 68 DCD (opened in 2011) continues to be effective with reducing crashes.
Project limits: Leestown Road/US 421 (milepoint 7.2) to Georgetown Road/US 25 (milepoint 8.7)
New Circle Road/KY 4 – Inbound and Outbound
Thursday, March 28 through Friday, March 29 – currently and until 6 a.m. on Friday
- lane closures in effect for both Inbound and Outbound at milepoint 1.79
- motorists can pass through the work zone
- the lane closures are necessary to install a barrier wall for pier construction
- the pier construction is essential for building a new bridge
District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
