Lane closures scheduled for Newtown Pike/KY 922 Widening Project in Fayette County
Project area is between New Circle Road/KY 4 and Interstate 75
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled lane closures that are necessary for the Newtown Pike/KY 922 Widening Project to begin. The project limits are between milepoints 1.6 and 3.2 --- a distance of 1.61 miles.
Newtown Pike/KY 922
Sunday, Feb. 25 through Monday, Feb. 26 – 7 p.m. Sunday until Monday at 5 a.m.
- temporary lane closures in both directions will be in effect between milepoints 1.6 and 3.2 for striping operations
- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
Sunday, Feb. 25 – 7 p.m. Sunday and until further notice
Intersection of Newtown Pike/KY 922 and Aristides Boulevard:
- the inbound far right lane on Newtown Pike/KY 922 will be closed (milepoint 2.9)
- right turn movements for motorists will be allowed onto Aristides Boulevard from Newtown Pike/KY 922
- two (2) thru lanes and a left turn lane will remain open for traffic
The project to widen a portion of Newtown Pike/KY 922 will improve safety and mobility along a high-traffic corridor in Lexington. The route will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction between New Circle Road/KY 4 and Interstate 75.
