Roadwork Begins Thursday on KY 88 in Hart County
Resurfacing and concrete inlay to be complete by the end of June
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (Feb. 21, 2024) – Preliminary work begins Thursday on a road rehabilitation project along KY 88 between Kessinger and Munfordville. The initial phase includes replacement of culvert pipes, slope corrections and base failure repairs.
Work will take place between 7:30am and 5pm central time each day. Flaggers will direct alternating one-lane traffic around construction operations. Motorists should expect short delays and be prepared for slowly moving and/or stopped traffic ahead.
Final surfacing of the project is scheduled for completion by June 30th. Once completed, safety and ride quality will be increased throughout the five-mile stretch. Additionally, the KY 88 approach to US 31W (Main Street) will be reconstructed with a concrete inlay which is better suited to withstand torque and twisting produced as heavy vehicles pull into and out of the intersection.
