ALERT: I-24 Westbound Blocked by Truck Crash at 36mm in Lyon County

Estimated duration is 6 hours or approximately 7:30 a.m., CST

PADUCAH, Ky. (February 3, 2024)   Lyon County 911 Dispatch reports both westbound lanes of Interstate 24 are blocked near the 36 mile marker in Lyon County.

Initial reports indicated a large box truck hauling paper was heading eastbound, crossed the median and crashed in the westbound lanes.  Both westbound lanes are blocked by debris and mud.

This crash is along I-24 westbound between the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 Interchange and the Weight Station.

Estimated duration is 6 hours or approximately 7:30 a.m., CST.

KYTC personnel are assisting Kentucky State Police and Lyon County Sheriff's Deputies on site.   A detour has been established for westbound traffic at the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 Interchange via U.S. 62 Westbound to take KY 453 North to return to I-24 at the KY 453 Grand Rivers-Smithland Exit 31 Interchange.
