Traffic pattern changes scheduled for Richmond in Madison County
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative March in Richmond
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 12, 2024) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of traffic pattern changes for downtown Richmond, Madison County. Temporary modifications will be necessary for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative March.
The march is scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2024. The Richmond Police Department will be onsite to assist motorists.
Monday, Jan. 15 – 9:30 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m.
The route sections below will be closed:
- Lancaster Avenue/KY 52 from Water Street (a city route) to Main Street/US 25X (MP 1.510)
- Main Street/US 25X (MP 1.510) at the First Christian Church entrance to Second Street (a city route)
- Third Street (a city route) from West Irvine Street (a city route) to Water Street (a city route)
Motorists should expect and plan for delays --- heavy traffic is expected.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
