Delays and One-Lane Traffic for KY 1469/KY3414 Intersection Right Fork of Long Fork
PIKE COUNTY (December 7, 2023) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of delays and one-lane traffic associated with a bridge replacement project in Pike County. The bridge is located at the intersection of KY 1469 and KY 3414 at mile point 4.5 (0.1 miles East of KY 3414) along the right fork of Long Fork.
M&M Services has been contracted to perform the two-phase project, which is set to begin December 11. The project does not include a separate diversion but allows traffic to continue using the current bridge on an alternating one-lane traffic pattern controlled by signal lights. Crews will work on each lane of the bridge separately, changing traffic patterns once each section is complete.
Motorists can expect longer delays next week while equipment is being mobilized to the site.
Three on-site signals will be in place to direct traffic at all times for Left Fork, Right Fork and main Long Fork.
Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with some weekend work possible. Construction is expected to be complete in the Spring of 2024.
Motorists are encouraged to pay close attention to signage and equipment parked during daytime and overnight hours. Traffic could become congested during peak travel times. Motorists should plan for possible delays.
Work is subject to change based on weather conditions.
