Southbound bore of the East End Tunnel to be closed Wednesday, Nov. 29
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 22, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of daily lane closures on KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway) in Jefferson County beginning Monday, November 27.
Contract crews are scheduled to perform routine maintenance on KY 841 North and South between mile marker 35 and mile marker 37.7 (near and through the East End Tunnel) daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, December 1.
Additionally, IN 265 East will be closed beyond Exit 11/Utica and River Road in Jeffersonville, Indiana, limiting access to the southbound bore of the East End Tunnel/Lewis and Clark Bridge to Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, November 29, at 7 p.m. to Thursday, November 30, at 5 a.m. The suggested detour is to head back to IN 265 West and take Exit 7B to I-65 South to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge.
Motorists should heed signage, use caution, and adjust their commutes to accommodate the closures.
