Operations scheduled for Ironworks Pike/KY 1973 in Fayette County
Asphalt resurfacing between Russell Cave Road/KY 353 and Newtown Pike/KY 922
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 2, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of operations scheduled for Ironworks Pike/KY 1973 in Lexington. The asphalt work will require temporary lane closures.
The project limits are between Russell Cave Road/KY 353 (milepoint 16.8) and Newtown Pike/KY 922 (milepoint 19.205). The resurfacing operations will be in effect for approximately one week.

Friday, Nov. 3 – 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. (times are approximate)
- milling will be in effect at Russell Cave Road/KY 353, Mt. Horeb Road and Newtown Pike/KY 922
- lane closures will be in place --- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
Saturday, Nov. 4 through Sunday, Nov. 5 – the lanes will remain in milled condition during the weekend
Monday, Nov. 6 through Wednesday, Nov. 8 – 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day
- paving and striping operations will be in effect for Russell Cave Road/KY 353, Mt. Horeb Road and Newtown Pike/KY 922
- lane closures will be in place --- motorists will be able to pass through the work zone
All work/closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
