Contract Awarded for KY 329 Reconstruction in Oldham County

Project includes realigning and widening of roadway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 2, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) today announces the awarding of a contract for the realignment and widening of KY 329 in Oldham County.

The project will enhance the safety of the existing KY 329 and KY 329 bypass (Veterans Memorial Parkway) intersection, which is just south of Interstate 71.

Work is set to begin Monday, November 6, and motorists should expect changing traffic patterns and lane shifts as construction progresses. This may include being directed through the work zone via flaggers. Earlier this week signs notifying drivers of the upcoming work were placed in the area.

Clearing and utility work will follow. Excavation work is expected to advance to the point that requires the blasting of rock in early to mid-February. Motorists should expect traffic to be stopped in both directions for up to 20 minutes during the blasting. Drivers should heed any restrictions, proceed cautiously through the construction zone or seek an alternate route.

MAC Construction & Excavating, Inc. of Louisville, Ky., was awarded the $4,318,000 contract. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2025.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
