Daytime closures set for KY 867, KY 3337 in Magoffin County next week

JACKSON, Ky.  Daytime closures are scheduled next week so repairs can be made to two roads in Magoffin County.

On Monday, Oct. 23, KY 867 (Gun Creek) will be closed from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at milepoint 6.5 for replacement of a drainage pipe. This is 0.7 miles east of KY 7 at Royalton.

No marked detour will be posted. Drivers can use KY 7, the Mountain Parkway, US 460, and KY 1888 to bypass the closure.

Between 370 and 470 vehicles use this portion of KY 867 each day.

Beginning Monday, Oct 23, and running through Wednesday, Oct. 25, KY 3337 (Right Fork of Licking River) will be closed from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day for drilling to repair a break in pavement. This is 0.1 miles north of KY 378.

Again, no signed detour will be posted, but drivers can use KY 378 and KY 30, or Gifford Road and the Mountain Parkway as an alternate route.

Approximately 140 vehicles use this section of KY 3337 each day.

School bus traffic will be accommodated during both closures, as will emergency vehicles, but all other traffic will need to use another route.
