PADUCAH, Ky. (October 4, 2023)  A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans milling and paving along sections of KY 58, KY 282, and KY 1477 in Marshall County starting Monday, October 9, 2023.

Motorists should be alert for work zone restrictions at the following locations:

KY 58/Briensburg Rd
From U.S. 641 at the 10 mile marker extending eastward to U.S. 68 at mile point 11.399, a distance of 1.3 miles

KY 282/Gilbertsville Highway
From KY 1523/Industrial Loop at mile point 1.772 extending eastward to KY Dam Camping Road at mile point 4.623, a distance of about 2.86 miles

KY 1477/Briensburg Rd
From KY 1462/Benton-Birmingham Road at mile point 0.0 extending northward to KY 58/Briensburg Road at mile point 2.341, a distance of 2.34 miles.

Milling is expected to start on Monday, Oct. 9, with paving to follow.  The work on all three routes is expected to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers.  Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Jim Smith Contracting of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $776,131 multi-route highway improvement project.  The target completion date is October 25, 2023.
