Night Work begins Monday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. near KY 1460 Overpass
PIKE COUNTY (Sept. 19, 2023) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a second phase of resurfacing along US 23 in Pike County. The work site will begin at the KY 1460 Overpass near the Bob Amos Park exit (MP 24.0) and extend along US 23, ending at the Island Creek Intersection (MP 23.0).
Crews will begin repaving operations on Monday, Sept. 25, at 7:00 p.m.Operations will occur Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. with some daytime work possible. Traffic control will be in place throughout the duration of the project. Work will consist of milling and replacing the old pavement as well as painting and striping the roadway.
During this time, alternating lane closures will be in place to ensure work can occur safely. The project will take approximately four weeks to complete.
Motorists should expect delays and congested traffic throughout the work zone. Schedules are based on weather conditions and are subject to change.
Mountain Enterprises has been contracted to perform the work.
