Bridge Replacement Project to Begin July 5 in Spencer County
Road closure also set to begin on KY 1319 at mile marker 2
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 28, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) today announced the awarding of a contract for a bridge replacement project on KY 1319 (Kings Church Road) over Plum Creek at mile point 2 in Spencer County.
Work is set to begin Wednesday, July 5, with construction requiring a full closure of the existing bridge and a traffic detour for up to 60 days. Motorists should obey restrictions, seek an alternate route, and plan ahead when traveling.
The project includes demolition of the current bridge, built in 1952, and the construction of the replacement bridge with new guardrails. The work will be completed by Louisville Paving & Construction under a $957,000 contract.
