Public Input Needed to Develop Improvements Along US 62 on the West Side of Elizabethtown
Info and Survey Website Launched
ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (Apr. 10, 2023) – With current needs and future growth, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, local officials and stakeholders are planning improvements along the US 62 corridor in the KY 3005 (Ring Road) and I-65 Exit 94 interchange vicinity on the west side of Elizabethtown. The project team is working to develop alternatives to address safety, mobility and efficiency.
As part of the public involvement phase of the planning study, a new website (drive62.com) has been launched explaining details of the corridor and proposals for project development. Survey questions are embedded within various sections of information on the site for feedback on several project aspects. The website and included questions can be viewed and completed on a computer or mobile device.
The project team will finish the planning study in May with recommendations in order to begin design work in July.
The interchange area is widely considered a gateway to Elizabethtown. This presents an opportunity for a significant aesthetics component to be considered. Local leadership will play a major role with incorporating these aspects into design, construction and maintenance.
Making changes to address needs for now and the future while promoting growth and beautification are vital to our community.
Reminders will be posted on KYTC District 4 social media (@kytcdistrict4) for sharing with other agencies and the general public. Survey questions on the site will be available through April 23rd.
