Another closure of KY 1261 in Wolfe County for bridge repairs to begin Monday, Jan. 2
JACKSON, Ky. – Repairs have been completed on the Spring Branch bridge on KY 1261 in Wolfe County, and that bridge is now open to traffic, but another bridge repair project nearby will result in another road closure.
The KY 1261 bridge crossing Holly Creek at milepoint 3.95 will be closed for approximately 30 days beginning Monday, Jan. 2. Drivers who use this road will need to find an alternate route while the superstructure of the bridge is replaced, and the deck is restored and waterproofed.
A signed detour will be posted using KY 15, KY 191, and KY 1812 through Campton.
The existing bridge was built in 1960 has a sufficiency rating of 29.8, and is classified as structurally deficient. It has a posted weight limit of 5 tons. Fewer than 265 vehicles use the bridge each day.
