Bridge Construction near Ky 582 in Knott County begins Monday, Dec. 12

Delays expected for Willard Branch Road

KNOTT COUNTY (Dec. 11, 2022) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of possible delays as work begins on a bridge replacement in Knott County. Crews will begin construction on Willard Branch Road just off KY 582 in the Carr Fork area. The work site is located at mile point 5.0 (5.0 miles East of KY 160).

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, Dec. 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m Monday through Friday, with some weekend work possible. The project is expected to take approximately 12-15 weeks to complete.

Traffic will continue to use the current bridge while the new bridge is being constructed downstream. Delays are possible due to the size of the equipment needed and narrow road widths. Flaggers will be onsite directing traffic.

Motorists should watch for signage and equipment parked near the work zone during the day and overnight hours. Schedules are subject to change based on the weather.

Central Bridge and Bizzack Construction have been contracted to perform the work.
