Removal of the pedestrian bridge over Maysville Street/US 460
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 21, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of a scheduled closure for Maysville Street/US 460. The temporary closure is necessary for the removal of the pedestrian bridge located over the roadway. The bridge in downtown Mt. Sterling is being removed for safety precautions.

Tuesday, Nov. 22 and Wednesday, Nov. 23 – 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. (times are approximate)
- preliminary work will be in effect for preparation of the bridge removal
- work will not impact the traveling public
Wednesday, Nov. 30 through Thursday, Dec. 1 – 8 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday (times are approximate)
Thursday, Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 2 – 8 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday (times approximate)
Message boards will be in place to advise motorists of the closure times.
The traveling public is strongly encouraged to utilize the Mt. Sterling Bypass/KY 686 as an alternate route while the night work is in effect.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
