Traffic pattern changes scheduled for
Madison County
The Eastern Bypass/KY 876 in Richmond
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 26, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of temporary traffic changes for an event in Richmond. The event is the KMEA State Marching Band Competition to be held at the EKU football stadium.
Saturday, October 29 through Sunday, October 30 – 7 a.m. Saturday until approximately 1 a.m. Sunday
The following areas will be monitored by EKU police as determined by the flow of traffic:
Intersections for the Eastern Bypass/KY 876
- intersection with Baptist Health Hospital (milepoint 8.899)
- intersection with Roy & Sue Kidd Way/Kit Carson Drive (milepoint 8.528)
- intersection with Veterans Drive (milepoint 8.327)
- intersection with Lancaster Avenue/KY 52 (milepoint 8.146)
The following areas will be monitored by the Richmond Police Department if necessary:
Intersections that lead toward Interstate 75 West
- I 75 WB intersection (milepoint 7.129) with the Eastern Bypass/KY 876 and Lancaster Avenue/KY 52 (milepoint 8.146)
Motorists should expect and plan for delays --- extremely heavy traffic is anticipated.
All closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
