US 31W Elizabethtown Project in Homestretch

Construction Work Expected to be Complete by Mid-November

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (Oct. 12, 2022)  Construction activity is complete north of the US 31W Bypass with the exception of a few final striping and pavement marker details which will be completed with mobile operations as opposed establishing lane closures.

South of the bypass, contractors have finished outside lane work in both directions and are installing median drainage. This is the final phase of construction. Now through November 15th (at the latest), the median is closed between the signal at Diecks Drive/Cardinal Drive and the signal at the end of the bypass. No left-turns are permitted between these two signals. Motorists needing to make a left turn through the section will need to make a U-turn movement at Diecks Drive for southbound or at US 31W Bypass for northbound.

With significant construction activity in the vicinity of Baptist Health Hardin Hospital, additional signage has been installed to help motorists find entrances to (and navigate around) the facility.

Work is anticipated to be complete by November 15th, when the final traffic configuration will be in place throughout the corridor.
