Parking Impacts and Delays for Inez in Martin County

Multiple resurfacing projects along KY 40 and KY 3 start Tuesday, September 20th

MARTIN COUNTY (Sept. 16, 2022) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of one-lane traffic and delays beginning next week for milling and resurfacing along KY 40 and KY 3 in the Inez area of Martin County. Crews will begin work at mile point 9.13 and continue to mile point 12.08 (.9 miles East of KY 645) on KY 40 and at mile point 10.04(.03 miles Northeast of KY 645) through mile point 11.42 along KY 3.

Beginning Monday, September 19, parking along the shoulder on KY 40 near the Martin County Courthouse will not be permitted while the project is active. Crews will need the extra room to work safely in this busy area.

Milling is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 20, and continue for approximately one week. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, with weekend work possible. Delays are expected due to narrow road widths and large equipment needed for repairs. Flaggers will be onsite directing traffic.

Motorists should watch for signage and equipment parked near the work zone during daytime and nighttime hours. Schedules are subject to change based on weather.

Mountain Enterprises has been contracted to perform the work.
