Temporary Day Time Closure on KY 588 Letcher County
Guardrail installation begins near Blackey September 15
LETCHER COUNTY (September 9, 2022)- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of a two-day temporary daytime closure on KY 588 in Letcher County. Crews will be installing a guardrail along a portion of the road in the Blackey area, beginning at mile point 0.2 and extending around the hill one-half mile to MP 0.7 (148 feet west of High Street and 0.2 miles East of KY 7).
Crews will work Thursday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. The road will be closed during working hours due to the narrow road widths in this area.
Motorists are encouraged to obey posted signage and watch for equipment parked in the work zone during overnight hours.
