Improvements scheduled for
Nicholasville Road/US 27 in Fayette County
Sidewalk replacement and signal loop installation
LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 8, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of work for Nicholasville Road/US 27 in Lexington, Fayette County. Scheduled improvements include sidewalk replacement and signal loop replacement. Resurfacing operations will follow this project for the routes.
Sidewalk replacement:
Monday, August 8 through Tuesday, August 9 – currently and until 6 a.m. Tuesday
Tuesday, August 9 through Friday evening, September 2/Saturday morning, September 3 – 7 p.m. evenings until 6 a.m. the following mornings
- lane closures will be in effect for the inbound direction between Wilhite Drive (milepoint MP 2.554) and Jesselin Drive (milepoint 3.531)
Tuesday, September 6 through Friday evening, September 30/Saturday morning, October 1 – 7 p.m. evenings until 6 a.m. the following mornings
- lane closures will be in effect for the outbound direction between Southland Drive (milepoint 3.531) and Canary Road (milepoint 2.142)
Signal loop testing and replacement:
Tuesday, August 9 throught Friday evening, September 2/Saturday morning, September 3 – 7 p.m. evenings until 6 a.m. the following mornings
- lane closures will be in effect for both directions between Canary Road (milepoint 2.142) and Southland Drive (milepoint 3.531)
Motorists will be able to travel through the work zones.
All work/closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
