I-64 East closed for immediate repair
in Franklin County
Crew will be patching a bridge deck
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 8, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the immediate closure of Interstate 64 East today in Franklin County. The closure is to repair the deck of the eastbound bridge over KY 151 (mile marker 48) at the Graefenburg interchange. That’s about five miles east of exit 43 to KY 395 (Waddy Road) in Shelby County.
Since the interchange will remain open, motorists are advised to take the off-ramp to KY 151 and use the on-ramp to re-enter I-64 East.
The KY 151 bridge is one of four sets of bridges on I-64 from mile marker 47 to mile marker 52 in Franklin County that is being replaced in a project scheduled to be completed in fall 2023.
Today’s repair is expected to be completed no later than 3:30 p.m.
