It’s part of an ongoing asphalt resurfacing project

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 28, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of overnight lane closures scheduled through the weekend for a section of Interstate 64 being resurfaced in Shelby County.

I-64 West will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. tonight, July 28, to 7 a.m. on Friday, July 29, from Exit 43 for KY 395 (Waddy Road) to mile marker 38 at the KY 1790 (Hooper Station Road) overpass. Contractors will be water blasting to remove pavement striping.

I-64 East will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, to 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, from mile marker 38 at the KY 1790 (Hooper Station Road) overpass to Exit 43 for KY 395 (Waddy Road). This closure is to apply new pavement striping and install new pavement markers.

Signs in the area will direct motorists through the construction zone. The work is part of an $8.9 million asphalt resurfacing project on I-64 East and West in Shelby County. The project is scheduled to be completed this fall.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
