Traffic Advisory: KY 3 Closed Next Week in Boyd County for Pipe Replacements
Closed July 25-29 at mile marker 6 just south of golf course
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (July 22, 2022) – The Kentucky Department of Highways will temporarily close part of KY 3 south in Boyd County next week to replace damaged culvert pipes.
Beginning about 8 a.m. Monday, July 25, crews will dig through KY 3 just south of Country Club Drive (golf course) around the 6 mile marker to replace two pipes underneath. The road will remain closed at the work site around the clock, each day as needed, through 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 29.
All thru traffic on KY 3 should detour using KY 966 (Trace Road) to US 60 or I-64, or detour via Bear Creek and other routes. Electronic message boards are being used to notify the public of the closure and any schedule changes.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
