Traffic Advisory: KY 3 Closed Next Week in Boyd County for Culvert Replacement
Closed July 18-22 at milepoint 10.5 between Callahan Road and Spurlock Hill near Catlettsburg
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (July 14, 2022) – The Kentucky Department of Highways will temporarily close part of KY 3 in Boyd County next week for a culvert replacement.
Beginning about 8 a.m. Monday, July 18, crews will dig through KY 3 just south of Spears Road (milepoint 10.5) to remove an old concrete culvert. The road will remain closed around the clock through 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, or until installation of a new aluminum box culvert is complete. Barricades will be placed at Callahan Road and Spurlock Hill, with only local traffic permitted up to the work site.
All through traffic should detour using KY 180, I-64, and US 23. Electronic message boards are being used to notify the public of the closure and any schedule changes.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
