Roundabout project to begin for Montgomery County

The Highway Safety Improvement Program

LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 30, 2022)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the Roundabout project is scheduled to begin. The location will be the intersection of Indian Mound Drive/KY 686 and Spencer Road/KY 713. The one lane roundabout is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).

Walker Construction & Materials LLC was awarded the work for $1,449,739.14. Roundabouts are intersections that direct traffic in a counterclockwise direction around a center island. They have no stop signs or traffic signals. Yield signs, directional signs, and pavement markings guide traffic through the intersection.

Tuesday, July 5th through Friday, August 197 a.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Friday

Indian Mound Drive/KY 686 and Spencer Road/KY 713the intersection

  • Spencer Road/KY 713 (between milepoints 4.8 and 5.2) will be closed at the intersection with Indian Mound Drive/KY 686 (between milepoints 4.5 and 4.9)
  • motorists will need to follow the posted detour that will be in place around the closure

All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
