Roundabout project to begin for Montgomery County
The Highway Safety Improvement Program
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 30, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that the Roundabout project is scheduled to begin. The location will be the intersection of Indian Mound Drive/KY 686 and Spencer Road/KY 713. The one lane roundabout is part of the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP).
Walker Construction & Materials LLC was awarded the work for $1,449,739.14. Roundabouts are intersections that direct traffic in a counterclockwise direction around a center island. They have no stop signs or traffic signals. Yield signs, directional signs, and pavement markings guide traffic through the intersection.
Tuesday, July 5th through Friday, August 19 – 7 a.m. Tuesday until 7 a.m. Friday
Indian Mound Drive/KY 686 and Spencer Road/KY 713 – the intersection
- Spencer Road/KY 713 (between milepoints 4.8 and 5.2) will be closed at the intersection with Indian Mound Drive/KY 686 (between milepoints 4.5 and 4.9)
- motorists will need to follow the posted detour that will be in place around the closure
All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
