KY 310/Turner Landing Road Reopened to Traffic at Near 1mm in Ballard County
Culvert replacement project completed
PADUCAH, Ky. (June 29, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has reopened a section of KY 310/Turner Landing Road in Ballard County.
KY 310/Turner Landing Road has been closed since June 15 at mile point 1.2 to allow a culvert that carries a branch of Humphreys Creek to be replaced about halfway between U.S. 60 and KY 358/Bandana Road.
Motorists should be aware that the excavation site will be allowed to settle. Break in Pavement signs are posted. Caution is required. Once the area has settled sufficiently, a paving crew will place an asphalt cap on the new culvert.
The existing steel culvert was replaced with a pre-fab aluminum arch structure. The pre-fab culverts are less expensive than a traditional concrete culvert and can be installed in a matter of weeks rather than taking months to complete.
The Ballard County Highway Maintenance Crew was responsible for much of the work with assistance from an assembly crew provided by the culvert supplier.
KY 310/Turner Landing Road reopened to traffic at this site one day ahead of the target completion date.
