KY 53/KY 44 Closure Set for Tuesday

Crew will be replacing a cross drain
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 27, 2022) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the closure of a section of KY 53/KY 44 (Mt. Eden Road) this week in Shelby County.
KY 53/KY 44 will be closed from 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, to 12 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, at mile point 6. That’s between Martin Nethery Road and KY 636 (Back Creek Road) No thru traffic; local traffic only.
Crews have been replacing cross drains in preparation for the resurfacing of KY 53/KY 44 at a future date. Motorists should use caution when crossing the newly replaced cross drains. Crews will place a layer of dense grade rock on the drains until asphalt can be poured.
