Daytime closures planned for KY 1274 in Menifee County June 22-23

JACKSON, Ky. – Drivers who use KY 1274 near Frenchburg in Menifee County will need to find an alternate route during daytime hours on Wednesday and Thursday, June 22-23.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet personnel need to close the road to make repairs to two drainage structures beneath the pavement. The work will require a full closure of the highway due to the nature of repairs and the presence of equipment on the road.

The road will be closed at milepoint 1.889 on Wednesday, June 22; and at milepoint 0.733 on Thursday, June 23. Both closures will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the road should be back open to traffic by 4 p.m. each day. These locations are just east of KY 36, between Frenchburg and Cave Run Lake.

No marked detour will be posted, but drivers can use KY 36, US 460, and KY 1693 (Dan Ridge) as an alternate route. Depending on their origin or destination, drivers may prefer to use KY 211, US 60, and KY 801 through Bath and Rowan counties to bypass the closure.
